Bada Char Dham Yatra 9 Nights / 10 Days
Overview
The char dhams are a collective name for the temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. These four temples are situated in the Garhwal Himalayan area of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and the Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage to them. With Badrinath to the north, Kedarnath to the east, Gangotri to the west, and Yamunotri to the south, the four temples are spread out in four separate directions. The Char Dham Yatra typically begins in Haridwar or Dehradun and travels a distance of around 800 kilometres round journey. Hindus hold this pilgrimage in high regard, and followers travel there to seek salvation. Between May and October, when the weather is favourable and the roads are open, is the best time to go on the Char Dham Yatra.
One of the holiest in Hinduism, the Bada Char Dham Yatra is a well-known pilgrimage path in India. The eighth-century scholar and theologian Adi Shankaracharya is credited with founding the Char Dham Yatra. The Char Dhams are regarded as among of India’s most sacred locations and have been mentioned in numerous Hindu religious literature. Each of the Hindu pantheon’s four temples at Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri is devoted to a separate deity.
Devotees from all over the world travel to the Char Dham Yatra, and a number of tour operators offer packages for the journey. Before starting the yatra, pilgrims should speak with their local priests or tour guides to make sure that all the essential preparations have been done. Pilgrims commonly rest in guesthouses or tents along the route, and the yatra typically lasts between 10 and 15 days. The Char Dham Parikrama, popularly known as the yatra on foot, is an option for some pilgrims.
Devotees who participate in the Bada Char Dham Yatra by helicopter are supposed to be blessed with mental serenity and spiritual enlightenment. This yatra is regarded as a very potent spiritual excursion. Those who complete the yatra are also said to receive luck and riches. For pilgrims who want to receive the blessings of God, they must travel to the Char Dham Yatra.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
